“Turn your face towards the sun and let the shadows fall behind”

Walt Whitman

My work includes ceramic sculptures, wall pieces, and functional pottery using wheel-thrown and slab construction techniques. I use both porcelain and stoneware clay bodies and fire to cone 10 in a gas kiln. Sculptural pieces may include some mixed media elements.  I draw inspiration from daily life and the abundance of natural forms around me. I am a full-time ceramic artist living and working in my home-based studio in Truckee, Ca since 1981. My work can be found in private collections across the country and is exhibited both locally and nationally.

I hold a BFA from California State University, Northridge, and served as an apprentice at The Clay Pot Calabasas, Ca. 1976-1978 while obtaining my degree. I was a Ceramic Instructor, at Sierra Nevada College, Incline Village, Nv. 1994-1997 and Summer Program Instructor-Ceramic Basic Design, Moorpark Junior College 1980.

Currently, I serve on the Board of Directors for The Association of Clay and Glass Artists of California.

Welcome to my world, this is where I spend most of my time chasing my creative thoughts and trying to capture what has inspired me.
